This Privacy Policy explains how the helpo Home Manager app ("helpo", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. helpo is built with a local-first design — your home data lives on your device by default and is never shared without your action.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. This is used solely to identify your account and is stored on our servers.
b. Home Data (stored locally)
All records you create in the app — inventory items, bills, warranties, maintenance tasks, repairs, and receipt files (images and PDFs) — are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly use the cloud backup feature (helpo+ subscribers only).
c. Cloud Backup (helpo+ only)
If you are a helpo+ subscriber and use the backup feature, a snapshot of your home data and receipt files is uploaded to secure cloud storage (Cloudflare R2). Your backup is stored under a key scoped to your user ID — no other user can access it. Backups are deleted when you delete your account.
d. AI Extraction
When you use the AI-powered scan feature to extract item details from a receipt image or document, that file is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic returns structured data (item name, brand, price, etc.) and does not retain your files for training purposes. No other data is sent. 2. How We Use Your Information
- •Authenticate your account and manage your subscription
- •Provide cloud backup and restore (helpo+ only)
- •Process AI-powered item extraction when you initiate a scan
- •Respond to support requests
3. Data Sharing
We share data with third parties only as needed to operate the app:
- •Google — sign-in authentication
- •Anthropic — AI extraction of receipt/document data (only when you initiate a scan)
- •Cloudflare R2 — secure cloud storage for helpo+ backups
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or home data with advertisers or any other third parties.
4. Data Security
Your home data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS's built-in encryption. Cloud backups are stored in Cloudflare R2 and are accessible only via presigned URLs tied to your authenticated session. All API communication uses HTTPS.
5. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud backup data is retained until you delete your account. Account information (name, email) is retained for as long as your account is active and deleted upon account deletion.
6. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You may at any time:
- •Delete your account from the Account tab in the app — this permanently removes your account, all server-side data, and all cloud backup files
- •Delete all local data by uninstalling the app
- •Request a copy of or correction to your account data by contacting us

7. Children's Privacy
helpo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
